National Women Build Week: April 30 - May 7, 2011.
Please consider giving your time, money, and resources to helping us meet the needs for the families we will serve during this week! Each person volunteering is encouraged to try to sponsor one square foot of the home repair costs - $54! Put your name on that square foot.
We understand that everyone is not able to give the full $54 donation, so you may still reserve your volunteer dates with a $20 gift that will still include a t-shirt and lunch on your service day.
Each build day will have a Do-It-Herself workshop during the lunch break. We are giving you skills to take home with you.
April 30 - Repairing a hole in your wall/sheetrock
May 2 - Hanging ceiling fans and light fixtures
May 3 - installing new door handles and locks
May 4 - Laying Tile and repairing chipped tile
May 5 - Caulking - the different types and when/where to use it
May 6 - Gardening - building yoru own garden box, herbs, and more
May 7 - Putting up new baseboard and casing
DIY worskhops will happend daily on site at 12:30pm

Morning shift: starts at 8:30am sharp!
Lunch: 12:00noon
DIY workshop: 12:30pm
Afternoon shift starts at 1:00pm sharp!
End of day: 4:00pm

Women Build is a program of Charleston Habitat for Humanity. Every year, our Women Build Leadership Team raises funds to build and repair homes during National Women Build Week. This annual event occurs during the week leading up to Mothers Day. Men may still volunteer. This isn't about exluding men, but including women in being part of Habitat's tangible and hands-on solution or our community's housing needs. We have a $10,000 fundraising goal to meet before we get started with these repairs. Please help us raise funds. Please come and volunteer! All of your support is so vital to helping us achieve our mission! Together, we will make safe, decent, and affordable housing a REALITY for those in need! |
